About HearAge
HearAge is made by Redsprint Ltd, an independent app studio registered in England and Wales. We build small, focused iPhone and Mac apps for photo restoration, journaling and planning. Listening is the newest.
Why a sound amplifier
There are plenty of moments where you want one particular sound louder and turning the room up isn't an option. A television already at the volume everyone else is happy with. A guide talking at the front of a group you're at the back of. Someone across a restaurant table with a hard floor and a full room behind them.
The phone in your pocket has a microphone good enough to pick that up, and the headphones in your drawer are in your ears half the day anyway. HearAge joins the two together and hands you the controls.
What we believe
- Nothing needs to leave the phone. Microphone audio is processed live and never recorded. Your settings sit on the device and there's no account to create. Read the privacy policy; it's short because there's little to disclose.
- Honesty about what it is. HearAge is a listening tool. It doesn't measure your hearing and it isn't a hearing aid, and we say so in the app, on the store listing, and on our how-it-works page.
- Readable in a dark restaurant. Large type, big targets, plain language, because hunting for a tiny slider while the starters arrive is nobody's idea of a good time.
